Things to See & Do

Main Street reveals the true character of Florence, whether it be a parade, a dance, Santa's arrival, trick or treat, sidewalk sale, car show or a quiet evening stroll.  Everyone is welcome.  Please spend a day or as long as you want.

Pioneer Park, located in the heart of town, is the setting for many local events. Every Thursday morning from June through October the Farmer’s Market fills the park with fresh produce, vendors and entertainment.

Every Wednesday evening during the summer months the Chamber of Commerce sponsors Music in the Park. Free to all, the music ranges from concert bands to favorite local groups.

In October the popular competitive ‘Eureka Days Barbeque’ attracts grillers and appetites from all over. During the same weekend the local arts council hosts the annual ‘Paint the Town’ plein aire painting competition, exhibit and sale.

The park hosts the annual Chamber’s Customer Appreciation Day Barbeque in June and the Pioneer Day’s activities in September. This event is Florence’s Annual Celebration with a grand parade, vendors, tractor pull, street dance and the salute to the pioneers.

Held in conjunction with Pioneer days is the wonderful Junktique and Outdoor Market.

Out of town antique dealers are invited to set up shop on the streets for two days to sell their wares. It is a festive and exciting time on the streets of Florence.

There is a municipal swimming pool, public parks, a 18 hole, Gary Player designed golf course and the famous Gold Belt Tour through the historic mining district to keep you entertained.
